Neil Young Tribute Show

RUSTY BLADEN HONORS THE MUSIC OF NEIL YOUNG WITH TRIBUTE SHOW

“Neil Young is a legend. We are lucky to have him during our lifetimes. He is not just an artist; he is a storyteller through music.”

“The music and experience is pretty impactful and moving. It’s a great night.”

— Rusty Bladen

“There are three reasons I signed on to be a part of the band for Rusty Bladen’s ‘Neil Young Tribute’,” relates Robert Reynolds, a Grammy-winning musician (The Mavericks) who now calls Madison, Indiana, home. “First is my deep and abiding love of the entire Neil Young catalog of music. The more I dive into Neil’s five-decade career, the greater my fanship becomes. The second reason I’m excited about this show is Rusty’s singing voice, and the powerful way he interprets and respects Neil’s songs.”

Rusty and the band debuted with a sold-out show at the Ohio Theater in Madison in 2025.

Bladen is a veteran of the Indiana music scene, having released 10 albums and played more than 5,000 shows, and is a member of the Madison Music Hall of Fame. His every-night-a-great-time live show and encyclopedic knowledge of rock and roll and country music have made him an artist who can be counted on to turn a performance into a party.

“I’d wanted to do a Neil Young tribute for decades. I first learned to play guitar with Neil’s music,” Bladen says. “I bought his songbook at the music store – it was about 2 inches thick – and I just plowed through those songs, learning them all.”

Rusty leads the band through a mix of Neil’s hits plus a number of his deeper cuts, moving from “Harvest” era songs, including Neil’s only #1 song, “Heart of Gold”, to the Young’s guitar rock and roll with songs like “Cinnamon Girl” and “Rockin’ in the Free World”.

“We’re starting with his early acoustic stuff and working our way through to the later grunge era of his later years,” Rusty says.

Reynolds adds, “We will be playing what is arguably some of the greatest American rock music of our time. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?”
